Our group has incorporated researchers from the Cell Therapies Development Laboratory, belonging to the Cell Therapy Service from the Banc de Sang i Teixits, aiming to consolidate our efforts in the development of cell therapies and advanced technology of biological constructs for optimal integration into clinical regenerative treatments. Thanks to this collaborative joint our research group has been recognized by the Generalitat de Catalunya as “Grup de Recerca Consolidat”.

We have been going on working in the evaluation of bone regeneration therapies in preclinical and clinical studies. We are evaluating mesenchymal stem cells expanded “ex vivo” associated with different scaffolds in large experimental models and also in early phase clinical trials. We are also working in the osteoproductive, revitalizing and osteointegrative capacity of artificial periosteal flaps based on polylactic acid and bioglass in a rat animal model
